Obituary of Florence Metzger

Of Wellesley, peacefully entered the presence of the Lord surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in her 70th year. Beloved wife of John for 46 years. Dear mother of Janice Shantz (Peter) of Listowel, Richard (Miriam) of Wellesley, Fred (Elsie) of Hesson, Scott (Charlene) of Kingwood, Joanne Martin (David) of Moorefield. Loving grandma of seven grandsons and seven granddaughters. Loved sister of Earl (Lena), Gordon (Edna), sister-in-law Mary, Leonard (Mildred), Eileen Martin (Orleon), Merle (Fern). Also lovingly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law Clayton Metzger (Alice) and Marie Gerber (Sam). She was predeceased by her parents Clayton and Susannah Martin, brothers Orvie and Abner, and a granddaughter Samara. The family will receive their friends and relatives at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, Hawkesville on Friday, March 9th from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, March 10th from 2-6 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the church on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, RR 1, St. Clements. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the Red Cross PSW team, the staff on the fifth floor of Grand River Hospital and all others who came into the home to lovingly care for Florence during her illness. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
