Obituary of Ervin L. Martin

Martin, Ervin L. ~ In his 83rd year, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Freeport Health Centre - Trinity Village Terrace, formerly of Floradale. Devoted husband of the late Beatrice (Dettweiler) Martin (2010). Loving father of Lois Pryse (Michael), Phyllis Martin-Neufeld (Keith), Linda Martin, Elizabeth MacPherson (Gordon) and Christy Hoffman (Craig). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jessica (Rob), Kathleen (Scott), Heather, Emily, Nicole, Janelle, Alex, Adam, Blake, Natasha and Matthew, and by great-grandchildren Owen and Abigayle. Ervin will also be missed by his sister Adeline Martin, and sisters-in-law Velina and Erma Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Anson and Lydia, siblings George, Lincoln, Clayton, Amos and Edna. The family will receive their friends and relatives at Floradale Mennonite Church, 22 Florapine Road, on Friday, December 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Ervin’s life and faith will be held at Floradale Mennonite Church on Saturday, December 24th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fred Redekop officiating. The casket will remain open at the church until 10:45 a.m. Interment in Floradale Mennonite Cemetery. In Ervin’s memory, donations may be made to Floradale Mennonite Church or Mennonite Central Committee and may be arranged through Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, 519-669-2207.
