Obituary of Mary Metzger

Metzger, Mary (Shantz) ~ Died peacefully on October 5, 2011 at Listowel Memorial Hospital, in her 71st year, of RR 1, Wallenstein. Beloved wife of Alvin Metzger. Mother of Erma and James Martin, Laurene and Amon all of RR 1, Wallenstein, Martha and Daniel Wideman of RR 3, Wallenstein, Miriam and Alvin Wideman of RR 4, Listowel, Abner and Vera Metzger, Ruth and Cleon Wideman all of RR 1, Wallenstein. Also survived by her 29 grandchildren. Sister of Elvina and Clayton Martin, Susannah and Milton Bauman, Ian and Esther Shantz, Esther and Henry Wideman, Ervin and Lydia Shantz, Daniel and Selema Shantz, Lena and Osiah Bauman, Louisa and Vernon Martin and Nancy Shantz. Sister-in-law of Joseph and Ada Martin. Predeceased by her son David, her parents Ervin and Esther Shantz, one sister Erma and two brothers in infancy. Friends may call at her home, RR 1, Wallenstein on Thursday, October 6th from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday, October 7th from 2-6 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at her home at 9 a.m. then to Weaverland Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
