Obituary of VAN Breda

van Breda, Audrey ~ Peacefully went home to be with her Lord on August 16, 2011 at Lisaard House at age 83, of Elmira. Audrey was born August 14, 1928 in Scharstebrug, Freisland, Holland. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 where she met and married her beloved husband William in 1951. Dear mother of Audrey and Clem Weber, Wilma and John Campbell, Dianna and Hugh Weltz all of Elmira, Wendy and Tim Topel of Michigan, John and Krista van Breda of Cambridge. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Paul (Melanie), Stephanie, Colleen (Scott), William (Carrie), Nathan (Linda), Eric (Beth), Tina, Matthew, David, Joshua, Zachary and by her great-grandchildren Ashley, Todd, Erin, Liam and William. Sister of Tini (Adam) Joostema and Lucy (Jerry) Heidbuurt, sister-in-law to Marilyn Verbeek, Wilhelmina DeBie, Audrey Roodzant and Marlene van Breda. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband William (2010), her parents Louis and Audrey Verbeek, brothers Tom and Peter, brothers-in-law Joe, Wayne, John van Breda, Ton DeBie, Bob Brieko, John Roodzant, and sisters in-law Edith and Eva. We wish to thank the excellent nursing team of Jane, Diane, Heather, Nancy and Dr. Jones as well as the excellent care from the entire staff at Lisaard House. You went far beyond your duties and we couldn’t have kept her in her home without all your help. The family will receive friends and relatives at Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Audrey’s life will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Elmira on Friday, August 19th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Frey officiating followed by interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Floradale. In Audrey’s memory. donations to Lisaard House or Lutheran World Relief would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
