Obituary of John Hanley

Hanley, John (Jack) ~ Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the age of 79 years. John Hanley, of Linwood, is the beloved husband of the late Helen Hanley (2009). Loved father of Patricia and her husband Dennis Schultz, Terry and his wife Laurie all of Linwood and Dan and Ruby of Kitchener. Loving grandfather to Tonya (Shawn) Baker, Ryan (Kendra) Steinfieldt, Sheila (Adam) Klages, Carrie and Kimberly Schultz, David and Scott Hanley, Sheena (Blair) Woolner, Amanda Hanley (Ryan), and three great-grandchildren Ruthanne Klages and Caydence and Parker Woolner. Survived by five brothers. He was predeceased by his daughter Karen Steinfieldt (1989), one sister and one brother. Jack worked at Uniroyal Tire Division, Kitchener for 41 years and enjoyed over 20 years of retirement both in Linwood and at his cottage in Sauble Beach. Friends will be received at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Wednesday (today) June 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s RC Church, Linwood, on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Father Richard Hurdle officiating. Interment will take place in St. Clements Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Building Fund at St. Mary’s RC Church, Linwood.
