Obituary of Ivan Unruh

Unruh, Ivan John ~ Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at University Hospital, London. Ivan Unruh, age 60 years, of St. Jacobs. Dear son of Doris McDougall and stepson of Dunc McDougall of Hanover. Ivan is lovingly remembered by Debbie Dunlop of St. Jacobs. Loving father of Chris Unruh of Chesley and stepfather of Jessica Dunlop of St. Jacobs. Brother of Judy and Frank Perry of Newmarket. Predeceased by his father John Unruh. Ivan worked at Home Hardware Warehouse in St. Jacobs for 38 years, drove Coach buses for 25 years and was a church organist in many different churches since the age of 14 including St. Teresa’s RC Church, Elmira. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Monday evening June 27th from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, Elmira on Wednesday, June 29th at 11 a.m. with Father David Lewis officiating followed by cremation. In Ivan’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society or ALS Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
