Obituary of Verna Bauman

Bauman, Verna M. (nee Shoemaker) ~ Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s General Hospital on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the age of 80 years. Verna Bauman, of Elmira, is the beloved wife of Maurice Bauman. Loved mother of Rosemary McVeeters and her husband Jerry of Penticton, BC, Charlie and his wife Linda of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Cameron and his wife Trudy of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Mark of Elmira, Eric and his wife Ann of St. Jacobs, Jeff and his wife Gloria of Elmira, Brad and his wife Rachel of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren. Dear sister of Norma Weber of Cambridge. Predeceased by her parents Irvine and Edna (Bowman) Shoemaker and a sister Myra Brubacher. Mrs. Bauman enjoyed her years operating a bed and breakfast in Floradale and also her time playing with the trio “The Musical Grandmas”. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Floradale Mennonite Church on Friday, April 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Mark Preece Family House would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
