Obituary of Barbara Howey
HOWEY, Barbara (nee Holland) ~ January 2, 1932 - April 9, 2011 ~ Barbara Howey, loving wife of the late Ron Howey (father of Ruth and Isobel and families), from Elmira, Ontario. She leaves to mourn her sister and brother-in-law Margaret and John Frappier from Montreal, her sister-in-law Joan Holland from Toronto and her niece and nephews Suzanne (Alain Paquet) and Gerry Frappier (Montreal), David, Ted and Danny Holland (Toronto). She had a special place in her heart for all her great-nephews and nieces (Caroline, William, Michael and their mom Barbara Eplett, Bruno, Evelyne and Laura) as well as her god-daughter Chelsey Witherspoon. Besides her husband, Barb has joined her parents, the late George E. and Alice (Carbert) Holland from Dublin, Ontario as well as her late brothers Edward (Toronto) and Joe (Winnipeg). According to her wishes, there will be visitation at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S, Elmira from 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 until the service time of 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Barbara will rest eternally at the Elmira Union Cemetery, beside her beloved Ron. A reception will follow in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank everyone that has helped Barbara surmount the health challenges she faced, in particular Dr. Zuzanna Majewski, Dr. Lowney, her many wonderful neighbours and friends from her days on Second Street and her cousin Mary Witherspoon who made sure that she was well taken care of until the end. We are extremely grateful. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the London Health Sciences Foundation, c/o Cancer Research, 747 Baseline Rd. E., London, Ontario N6C 2R6, would be greatly appreciated. Donations may also be made through the funeral home.

Visitation & Memorial Service: At the funeral home on Saturday, April 23, 2011 beginning at 10 a.m. until the service time of 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Elmira Union Cemetery after which a reception will be held at the funeral home.
