I was privileged to know Lydia and enjoyed our drives to church. It was an honour to have fellowship even though the trips were short. She was always an inspiration and her phone calls always brightened the day.

Ralph and I grew to love and respect Lydia as we got to know her over the years at Emmanuel E.M.Church. Lydia and I went on an adventure or two and we visited like we were friends from way back! She never seemed to grow old at heart. That fact - being young at heart no matter her age - plus her great faith in Jesus are my inspiration as I continue in my 70's.

Lydia was a great friend. She loved playing games with friends at the apartment. We enjoyed having meals together before Covid. I will miss this beautiful lady!

Lydia was a much-loved friend whom we first got to know in the Bloomingdale neighbourhood when our farms were close together. Mark and Marvin were in the Summer Bible School class that I taught, where they successfully changed seats without me knowing the difference! Years passed, but when your Mom and Dad moved to Elmira, our friendship carried right on, as they made Emmanuel their church home. We loved your Mom! She liked visits out on her patio and always shared her dependence on the Lord for her strength to get through her day. She worked hard to be positive when there were lots of challenges!
We will miss her and are praying for all of you, as you remember and say 'goodbye' to this special lady.
Sincerely, Murray and Gale Smith

Lydia was my grandmother Dorothea's "bestie" (At least as far as my grandmother was concerned). She was such a warm and caring lady. When I would visit my grandma, she would talk at length about Lydia, and when Lydia would visit while I was there, she was always smiling. Absolute class. Sending love to her family today.
