Obituary of Gwen Kirchmeyer
Kirchmeyer, Frances (Gwen)
March 17, 1930 – January 22, 2022
Gwen, formerly of Flesherton, passed away peacefully at Barnswallow Place, Elmira at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of Siegfried who preceded her in death (2010). Survived by daughters Cathy Kirchmeyer and Janet (Clyde) McLellan, son Andrew (Marie) Kirchmeyer, grandchildren Robbie and Michael McLellan; Jackie, Kristy and Ryan Kirchmeyer; and seven great-grandchildren. They share fond memories of Gwen at joyous family dinners, walking in the woods, skating, tobogganing and swimming. Gwen loved the outdoors working tirelessly in her beautiful garden, riding horses and daily outings with her dogs. She was very forthright with her family, always “telling us like it is”, and yet showed great compassion and concern. As per Gwen’s wishes, cremation will take place. Although no public services are being held, she would be honoured to have a donation in her memory made to the Ontario Veterinary College.
