Many memories of growing up in Elmira with Bob, in Cubs and scouts and Factory St. and the Elmira damn (swimming hole)next door.to his house.
I remember the day the triplets came home. I think it was Victoria St
.
Fishing and skating on the damn with Bob and other local kids.
Cub and scout mtgs. in auditorium above the old public school . and camping at Wallenstein
.
My first KW paper route with Bob
.
Hockey on championship Elmira teams.
School orchestras with Bob on clarinet. with lessons and direction by Claude Chislitt
.
The bitter sweet day Bob lost his new gold ring in a pile of sand and later found after sreening the sand.
Bobsledding down Victoria St. hill with the Regers and a nifty 10 kid bobsled
.
Witnessing a herculean suppertime event where a strong man, with a rope in his teeth pulled the Elmira fire truck to the disbelieving spectators on Water St.
A memorable incident in the basement of the old public school, after hours, where Principal Duke admonished Bob, after he showed up late for hockey practice and told him he'd better decide on doing papers or hockey practice.
Many of my youthful and special Elmira memories included my good boyhood friend Bob Duench.
Submitted with many fond and cherished memories by Dave Chambers, who now, after some 80 years is relegated to the class of Elmira "Old Boys".

Dear Drina (Bob) & Chris (Wendy). So very sorry to hear of your father’s passing. I have fond memories of him and all the summers at his cottage with family. I always loved Bob as my brother in law in the early years when we were so young. I know he will be missed by his whole family. Love Aunt Karen.

Dear Pat, Drina, Chris, Judy and Larry,,
So many memories come flooding back after reading of Bob’s death. Evenings spent on Church street with mom and dad, Bob and three young girls, marriages, babies, time at our lake in the north, steak dinners with he and Don when my parents were away and most importantly my visit this past year at his new home in Elmira. I could go on and on. Regardless, i will hold all my memories dearly remembering all those wonderful memories safely in my mind. I trust all of you will also. Hugs, Brian Kirkham
