As a boy, I remember my mother (Gloria) taking me on trips to visit Aunt June. She was always very friendly and kind to me. In later years, whenever I travelled back to Ontario, I would usually visit her in Elora with one or more of my sisters. She would have a great lunch prepared for us and wanted to know what was new in our lives. It was always good to see her and in many ways it was a reminder of mom, and a connection to that generation of the family. I wish we would have had the chance to visit with my daughter Lena, who is now 3. I was very sorry to hear of her passing, she will be missed.

On behalf of the family of our father, the late Elmer Moyer (first cousin of Freddy Moyer) I would like to express our condolences to June's extended family. Our sister, Donna Lotz, had kept in touch with June over the years. She last spoke with her over the phone a few weeks ago. May your memories of June be a blessing.

Was so sorry to hear of Aunt June’s passing. I remember her as a snappy dresser, always looking very nice. She would come and visit and we would have tea. I would use my fancy tea cups whenever she came lol We enjoyed her visits, and her honesty.

My family and I are so sorry to hear about Aunt June's passing. I was very grateful for her words of comfort earlier this year when my mom, Marjorie, passed away so suddenly at the end of March. Although we have not seen each other in some years I had hoped to visit with her this year again. I have travelled to many of the places in Holland where Laverne served with 19th Canadian Army Field Regiment towards the end of the Second World War and I had offered to June to describe some of what I had seen and know (academically) of that difficult winter of 1944 for the Canadian Army. I know that June has remained a strong supporter of soldiers and of the local Legion in Elmira and I love her for that. I remember her visits to our farms in Wallace and Listowel over the years and the curiosity she always had about us kids. She was always kind to us and wondering what we were up to. I understand that she was a beautiful piano player and dancer and although I have no experience of this talent, this is how I will remember her. Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire Conrad family on the loss of June.

Aunt June was a beauty and my dad tells me that she was an amazing dancer. She had the music within her, and I wish I could have heard her play more often.
