Obituary of Ward Schade



Schade, Wardin Arnold

Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the age of 90. Wardin is predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years, Irene Schade (2011). Loving father to Ian (Sylvia) Schade and Jennifer (Daniel) Fulton. Cherished Poppa to Kelsey, Emma, Chrissy and Susie (Mike). Great Poppa to Kaeden, Brynnlee, Laynee, and many more great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Janet Schade, nieces Susan and Martha, nephews Reggie and Teddy, and cousins Velma and Delores. Predeceased by his parents Oskar and Korah (Würm) Schade, his son Daniel Woodbury and daughter Beverly (Woodbury) Goulet (2009), and brothers James, Aldimer, and Edward Schade.

Wardin was a Chief Operating Engineer at J.M. Schneider Meats in Kitchener. He was also a member and Elder at Gale Presbyterian Church, Elmira, and a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

Wardin was a true Boston Bruins fan, and also spent many years hunting up north. He enjoyed going to Blue Jays baseball games with his granddaughters Kelsey and Emma, spending time tending to his gardens and flowers, and relaxing in his pool.

Thanks to Dr. Norris and all the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their excellent care.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 1 – 3 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Gale Presbyterian Church, 10 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira. Please call the funeral home at 519-669-2207 to register your attendance. Following Provincial regulations, masks are required and distancing will be maintained.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Gale Presbyterian Church – Building Fund would be appreciated by the family, and can be made through the funeral home.
