Obituary of Ivan B. Brubacher

Brubacher, Ivan B. ~ Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s General Hospital on Saturday, February 12, 2011 in his 84th year. Ivan Brubacher of Elmira is the beloved husband of the late Eileen (Martin) Brubacher (2006). Dear father of David Brubacher and his wife Lynda of Vineland, Dennis and his wife Sheri of Hawkesville, Darlene Weber and her husband Roger of RR 2, Wallenstein, Marvin of St. Jacobs, and Mark of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Loved grandfather of twelve grandchildren and seven great-granddaughters. Also lovingly remembered by his sister Lydia Ann Kappes of St. Jacobs, sisters-in-law Lavina Brubacher of Elmira and Vera Brubacher of St. Jacobs, and brothers-in-law Paul Prott of Kitchener and Cleason (Mary) Martin of Stratton. He was predeceased by his parents Christian and Selina, four brothers Norman, Abe, Jacob and David, one sister Leah Prott, two sisters-in-law Susannah Brubacher and Elmina Brubacher, brother-in-law Herman Kappes, and a daughter-in-law Shirley Brubacher. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, St. Jacobs. Interment to follow in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. As expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family.
