Obituary of Sheila Herteis

Herteis, Sheila Mary ~ Peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at KW Health Centre. Sheila was born December 11, 1971 and was the beloved daughter of Arlene (Ditner) and Gerry Herteis of St. Clements. Dear sister of Jeff and Donna, JoAnne Anderson and Chris Hammond, Sharon and Doug Haffner, Parry and Julie. Sheila was the cherished aunt of Valerie, Rachel and Steven; Nicole and Luke; Kyla and Tori; Ashley and Amy. Godchild of Marianne Walser and Rick Ditner. Sheila has joined her Grandma Ditner in Heaven. Sheila was very involved in the Elmira District Community Living, Special Olympics, bowling, swimming, sewing quilts for the Alzheimer Society, and the church choir. She took pride in all her jobs including Foodland in St. Clements, Frey’s Flowers in Elmira, office assistant and assistant cook with EDCL. Sheila has volunteered at St. Clement Catholic School for the past 22 years and has touched the hearts of many students and teachers. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Clements RC Church, St. Clements on Thursday, January 27th at 11 a.m. with Father Robert Hétu officiating followed by interment in St. Clements RC Cemetery. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. In Sheila's memory, in lieu of flowers, donations to Elmira District Community Living would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
