Obituary of John Boudewyns
Boudewyns, John
Peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his home in Elmira, at the age of 95.
Dear husband of Cornelia for 68 years. Loving father of Frieda Charlton (Dave 2015), Marty (Janice), Marian (Marty) Vandeven, Diana (Russell) Davison, and Janette (Joe) Soehner. Adoring grandfather to ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Will also be missed by extended family in the Netherlands.
John often expressed that he was blessed to have “a rich life”. He was a gifted storyteller and a devoted family man, who kept his family and faith at the centre of his world.
At John’s request cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral home visitation or service.
In John’s memory, donations to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or Epilepsy Toronto would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy, and may be made through the funeral home.

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us”- Helen Keller
With love and the fondest of memories, we say goodbye to one of the most loving men on the planet. John/Dad/Opa, you came to Canada with nothing but the love of your life, your God, and two dollars in your pocket. From that you built a home and an enormous, beautiful family, in which you took so much pride. Your smile and your kind heart will live on in all of us. Though our hearts feel the hole you leave behind, we will take comfort in the love and strength you have taught us all, to the end of our days. We love you to the ends of the earth sweet man. Xoxo
