My heart is so burdened. Oh!…Manijeh…what a grief! I was just shocked when I read about my sweet Old Friend’s death, this morning.
Our friendship started about 34 years ago, when we met each other someday in the faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology. She was such an energetic girl with good sense of humour. She was a year ahead and we usually used to meet each other at the library in break times or in the shuttle buss if we happened to go home at the same time. After the graduation, our friendship went more serious since we were meeting each other more frequently at her or my paternal home. I even remember their traditional cozy house with the mature date-plum tree in their yard, her lovely mom and her youngest sister, Zary. We basically met to study for Master exam. She encouraged me to learn playing Sitar, a traditional Persian instrument, as she was used to learn too. She also introduced me to an instructor, Mr. Keyvan. Soon I was employed in a company and she immigrated to Canada. We didn’t have any chance to communicate since then. However, after I immigrated to Canada with my family, in 2008, every once in a while I googled her name in different pronunciations but nothing came up each time. Today, I got up early in the morning. I searched her name again and this time I just unexpectedly faced her funeral. It was such a pain! I was thinking about her all the day. However, I am just sure that she lived the best life she deserved as she was strong and met a gracious family who recognized her personality and talents and loved her. She had been certainly happy.
Rest in peace, Manijeh! She truly was a wonderful soul and I pray that God rewards her with heaven.

Manijeh and I studied at Isfahan University of Technology which was located in a city almost 400 km far from Iran's capital Tehran where I used to leave. Relocation to a new city without your famly at age of 18 wasnt an easy ride but finding friends like Manijeh in Isfahan made the ride far easier. I can testify all was said in her funeral by her Canadian family/friend. Thanks for looking after her and giving your love and support to my strong, generous and hospitable friend. Rest in peace my friend!
My sincere condolences to her family in Canada and Iran.

I met Manijeh in a Christmas party in Dec 2015. At the time, I was an international student of mechanical engineering at university of Waterloo and still pretty new to Canada. Right there, I saw an extrovert lady who was also from Iran, and her curiosity, incredible energy and presence, and the effort she made to know people got me and we made friends!
She was unique in so many ways, like her exemplary faith and resilience. She was the strongest woman I got to personally know, and I feel so blessed to have met her. She was a role model for strength, will power, and decisiveness. She lived soulfully and to the fullest and strived to fulfill her potentials.
She was a great mentor and always inspired me and encouraged me to follow any tiniest talent I might have had. From advice in personal life to career decisions and insight on the industry, she was always there. She was all about work ethics and accountability and was kind of the female mechanical engineer you aspire to be. It was so heartwarming to have her guidance.
She was such a great and generous host. She loved beauty, art, and adventure, and creative ideas always excited her. The last time we met in person, we said we’d go and look at a cow farm near her place … That could never happen. Waterloo region will certainly not feel the same without her.
P.S. This photo dates to 2016 around her birthday time.

We are so sorry to hear of Manijeh’s passing. She is a beautiful soul, a kind person, an amazing inspiration for me and my family. Our son enjoyed playing with her and he always asked me about when he will play again. She will be dearly missed. May her soul Rest In Peace. I wish we were there for her. Heartbroken not knowing she was going through this to help. Her passion, her love for people, love for God, love of genuine community, knowledge, the arts, board games so much we shared. She welcomed us warmly into her home in 2017 when we were new to the area exploring. In fact, it is through her that I decided to move my family here, peacefully. Our warm memories will be cherished. Our deep condolences to her family and friends. May God give you comfort.

My Deepest condolences to Manijeh’s family in Iran and Canada, we share in your grief and keep you in our prayers. Manijeh, we have been friends for so long that I had taken you for granted, Alas I wasn’t aware our days would be numbered. I always admired your courage, resilience, adventurous and fun spirit; and was proud of your achievements. You loved people, nature, arts and all beautiful things, I cherish your memory forever. You left us too soon and I miss you very much, but fly high my friend, fly high, since this physical garment was too tight for you.

Hello Aunt Manijeh, my dear
I miss your voice ...
Now that I am sending you a message, you are sleeping slowly ...
Without any worries and pain ...
My flower, my companion , I entrusted you to a god who is kinder to you than mother.
I look forward to your calls every night; I wait for you to tell me about your treatment every night; But now your eyes are quietly closed, eyes full of hope ...
now You are no more ...
You are not and I have to go the path I chose without you.
Aunt, pray for everyone that you have an attractive prayer; I'm sure of that.
Pray for me a lot .... You know my wish, pray that God will always be with me on the way to the destination.
The meeting between you and me did not end, it was only a little late ...
See a familiar and friend in another world , Send our warm greetings to them.
Your memory, deeds and beautiful image will remain in the deepest part of my memories, you will not be forgotten by me.
be Relax that you are calm and well-groomed ...
“Mahsa & Mahta”

I first met Manijeh at Creekside Church. I loved her great sense of humour, enthusiasm for adventure in life and her sweet loving spirit. She was a hard worker and put her all into everything she did. She really cared about others and was always available to help anyone in need. I really came to admire her steadfast faith in the Lord. Despite all she suffered she remained so positive! She placed her full trust in Him right up to her crossing the finish line into the arms of Jesus. My heart aches for all those who mourn her passing. My deepest condolences to her family back in Iran, her brother here in Canada & to all her friends. She will be highly missed but knowing she is now in glory brings great comfort to me. I really look forward to seeing her again in heaven.

Manijeh was adopted into our family by my grandparents when I was very young and so for most of my life, she has been a part of our major life events. She was such a fun loving person and I'll never forget the energy she brought to whatever conversation she was a part of. It's so unfortunate that her time on Earth has been cut short but I know she's no longer in pain and that brings a sense of peace. You'll always be remembered Manijeh.

Manijeh,
You are so very missed, left us shockingly. I remember the first time we met, I was a newcomer to Canada and experiencing my first thanksgiving with the Church community, in October 2011. You were so excited to share with me how you learned French and we were having a great time speaking it together. After this night, we lost track of each other until you were able to find my contact from friends of friends ! You were always there for me, empowering me during the difficult times, with your beautiful and positive mind and thoughts. You made me feel confident and happy, no matter what. I love you always my soul sister and know how strong and positive you always have been. I will always remember the last time we spent a day together at your house, you cooked such an amazing meal and as our tradition, updated me on your beautiful plants you loved so much. You are always in my heart and mind, and a role model of a strong, powerful and beautiful inside and out woman. Love you Manijeh.

Manijeh was an intelligent Christian lady who loved Jesus. She is now with Him in heaven where there is much joy and no pain. We had the pleasure of knowing Manijeh for over 10 years and attended Church with her on many occasions. We were very excited as she took flying lessons and got her licence to fly.
She was an excellent cook and we often enjoyed her delicious meals.
Manijeh was very happy in her work with her business partner Rowly Martin who was very kind to her. She was so pleased when her brother Ali recently came back to live in Toronto.
We will miss her beautiful smile and her love.

Our deepest condolences to Manijeh's family and friends for this untimely loss. You were a friend like no other and absolutely full of "joie de vive". Apart from some of the most amazing meals I have ever tasted, one of my lasting memories of you will be the delight of exploring parts of the Bruce Peninsula together. Beautiful, fun, intelligent, vibrant... You left us all, shockingly too early !
You were a part of our family, for many, many years, and always a welcome guest.
Every celebration, you were there, our home, was your home 'away from home'.
You loved Sports, the Arts, loved People, but most of all, loved God.
We envision you now, in His loving arms, and our hope is that we shall meet you again...
We dearly miss you,

I remember vividly the Sunday I was told a young woman had come into Bayview Glen Church to pray. She was met by just the right Christian woman in our congregation; Carolyn was loving, welcoming, and a Good News sharer. Quickly Manijeh became a follower of Jesus. Many of us grew to appreciate Manijeh's commitment to Jesus, her heart for people, her sense of humour and more.
Jan and I had not heard that Manijeh was sick; we are shocked and so sad to hear of her death. We mourn with all who mourn her death. Yet with all Jesus followers, we rejoice to know that she is now more alive than she has ever been; eternally home with our resurrected Saviour.
