Dear Muriel , We want to express our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of Dan. We first knew Dan when he was on the Waterloo Pork Producers and we would be at meetings with him and sometimes you were there too. He was a gentle man and when he talked to me on pork issues , it was always in a non confrontation way. Years later we saw him working at the funeral home and he always seems glad to see us . We saw the write up in the paper and we just wanted to touch base . I saw you one day at the grocery store in Elmira and maybe our paths will cross again. You are in our thoughts and prayers . Liz and Reg Samis

Dear Muriel,
We are thinking of you and your family at this time. We pray that you will know God's comfort. I will never forget how welcome Dan's presence was the day of my own father's death. I am thankful that he, my father and mother are all in the presence of our Lord and Savior this Christmas season. I know he will be missed greatly here. Praying for God's tenderness and peace to surround you. Karen Findling (Gord and Erma's daughter)

Dear Muriel:
I know we are after the fact but Leon and I only saw the write up in Saturday's paper in the evening. We just want you to know how much we valued the friendship we had with Dan and yourself. He was a quiet, wonderful man and he will be very much missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with you Muriel and your family as you adjust to life without your beloved husband and father. We truly will cherish the visit we had with Dan and yourself a few months back in your apartment. Leon will wear the black coat proudly that Dan gave him. Our thoughts and prayers go with you.
Sincerely
Leon & Elaine Bender

Ivan Winger: My condolences to Muriel and all the family regarding Dan's passing. I am thankful for the many times I had coffee with Dan at the St. Jacob's Tim's. I would go there after driving the Ayr Coach Lines shuttle bus for the Sun Life Employees. It would be 10:00 a.m. until I would get to Tim's but Dan was so gracious to wait for me so we could enjoy many wonderful conversations. Some conversations were about the need for drifting churches today to get back to tell people the need for repentance of sin and the gift of Salvation to enter Heaven and not hell at the end of our time here on earth. Thanks Dan for your friendship and taking the time to meet me for those morning coffees. I have known the Albrecht family through the Brethren In Christ Church connections. I grew up in Gormley, in York Region and attended the Heise Hill Church. We moved to New Hamburg in July 2014. This has giving me the opportunity to get to know the Albrecht family much better. It has been a blessing to me to have had that time with Dan.
