From Irmi Teichrob
It was a privilege for me to sit with the Shantz family and attend Anna’s funeral online.
Anna’s life was well celebrated and honoured. Len & I offer our condolences to Sue and family and to Brian & Sandy and family.
The love Anna gave and received was evident to me through the slide show and accompanying well - chosen music & the tributes. The scriptures were beautifully tied together with Anna’s lived experience.
Although my personal acquaintance with Anna was brief, I feel blessed that I knew her at all and my knowing her has been enriched through the photos and stories told at her funeral. Anna and the whole Shantz family has left an imprint on my life. May the best of Anna live on in each of you.

Sending condolences to Brian, Sandy, Sue, and your families as you say goodbye and celebrate the long and full life of Anna. She was a special lady; a great support and loyal friend to my mom, and others, who loved her dearly throughout a lifetime of experiences. I will always remember her fondly -- a woman of strength, kindness and caring, and with a twinkle in her eye. May your cherished memories of Anna continue to sustain and enrich you.

Our deepest sympathy to you Brian, Sandy, Sue & your families.
It was good to be able to share in the funeral service even if it was from a different perspective. Aunt Anna was always a friendly face in the crowd & she always told Marvin at every reunion whether she was his aunt or cousin that particular day! Because she was both. It was always a pleasure to chat with her and we will remember her positive personality. Her resilience was remarkable & we were blessed to call her our Aunt.

It is always a privilege to reflect on Anna's hospitable nature. I have warm memories as a kid visiting the "Willard Shantz" farm after church on some Sundays for a fine meal and playing scrub baseball thereafter. Anna's welcoming nature extended into her later years when she always genuinely inquired about us and our children. We always sensed God's caring nature shining through her life. May God bless your family as you celebrate her life together.
PS. Having just participated in the service, we want to add that it was a lovely tribute to Anna. We appreciated the memories shared by the family, thoughts by Mark and Kevin, and all the great music!! We will be lifting up each of you - Sue, Tamara, Gini, Heather, Francois and children and Brian, Sandy, Adam, Evelyn, Brad, Katie, Luke, Steph and families and the Weber family. May God comfort you as you adjust to life without Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma - she so obviously LOVED each of you, and you returned that love in kind. Great slide show highlighting those sentiments and showing how much she enjoyed life!

I will always cherish the times spent with Aunt Anna whenever I went back East to visit. Eileen, Yvonne and I would go to her place, look at the new quilts that were in progress or finished then we would sit down for a delicious lunch of creamed asparagus on toast.....no one could make it like Aunt Anna. So many happy memories of a wonderful Aunt!!!

When I stayed in Canada 20 years ago we often visited Grandma Shantz. It was always a warm welcome and a great stay. I remember her as a wonderful person.
Last year I bought my own Scrabble game, it was the first time a scrabbled after I learnt it from Grandma Shantz. It has a special place in my cupboard today.
My parents and I send our heartfelt condolences.

Joy and I (Scheifele) will always remember Anna for her kindness as our first landlady after our marriage in 1966. She took great delight when our daughter was born in January 1968 and always remembered to ask about her and greet her warmly when she was at church with us. We also have great memories of Anna's wonderful gardens.

We will always remember the sweet soft whisper voice she had during our conversations. It appeared she only wanted us to hear those conversations and no one else. Such a sweet sweet lady who will always be remembered. XO

I have so many good memories of visiting and playing scrabble with Anna and Florence Wideman and my mother Alice Brubacher at St. Jacobs Place. After Anna's 100th birthday she and Sue came with birthday cake to visit my mother and I at Barnswallow Place Care Community in Elmira. They were so happy to see each other again. (Pictures attached). I always enjoyed Anna's great stories and clear memories of Brubacher life many decades ago!! My warmest wishes to the entire family as your celebrate her life and feel the emptiness of her passing! We have lost a wonderful woman!! ~ Lorrie Brubacher

Anna was like a mother to me the first several years of our marriage when we lived in the upstairs apartment at the farm. It was 'long distance' to phone my own mother so Anna came to my aid in canning and gardening. It has been a privilege to know her and her family all these years.
