Melvin B. Brubacher ~ Peacefully went to be with his Lord, surrounded by family on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Grand River Hospital, in his 72nd year. Melvin (Bowman) Brubacher, of Elmira, beloved husband of the late Sarah (Frey) Brubacher (September 26, 2010). Loving father of Karen (Darrell) Bauman of Hawkesville, Robert (Charlene) Brubacher and Murrel Brubacher all of Elmira, Alice (Ronald) Diefenbacher of Drayton, Marvin (Renée) Brubacher of Palmerston, Marilyn (Marlin) Shantz of Elora. Fondly remembered by his fourteen grandchildren. Dear brother of Sarah (Brubacher) Bowman (Mrs. Ephraim Bowman) of Floradale, Elvina (Brubacher) Bowman (Mrs. Delton Bowman) of West Montrose, Joseph (Esther) Brubacher of Wallenstein; brother-in-law of Emmanuel (Esther) Martin. Predeceased by his parents Wendel and Magdalena (Bowman) Brubacher, one sister Esther (Brubacher) Martin, two brothers-in-law Ephraim Bowman and Delton Bowman. The family will receive friends and relatives at Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A family service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 9 a.m., then to Elmira Mennonite Meeting House for further public service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.
