Obituary of Luwina Kraemer

Luwina Kraemer ~ Luwina's Heavenly Father called her home today. Our beloved mother, Luwina Christina Kraemer age 95 passed away peacefully at Leisureworld LTC in Elmira on Friday, December 31, 2010. Luwina, a daughter of the late Ottillia Ditner and Andrew Strauss, was born on March 26, 1915 in St. Agatha, Ontario where she grew up with her family. Luwina is predeceased by brothers Felix, Clements, Albert, Leander, and Linus and sisters Aurilia, and Matilda. Her brothers Alex and Joseph and sister Carolina mourn the passing of their older sister. At 24 Luwina wed John Harbuz Kraemer in 1939 (deceased 1988), and together they moved to a farm near Macton, Ontario where they raised their family and farmed for the next 30 years of their lives. Luwina is survived by her children Ann (Ken Bender), Richard (Frances), Lucille (Brian Dobson), David (Carol), Audrey (Pat Gleeson), Theresa (Peter Golem), and Bernard (Janet) who mourn the loss of their mother. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss Luwina dearly. Luwina will finally be re-united with her loving husband John and her children Joseph, Lawrence, Rosemary, James, and Rita who have been waiting for her in Heaven. Luwina’s family will receive relatives and friends at visitations that will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. at Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira and we encourage all who knew Luwina to attend, share memories and celebrate Luwina's nearly century long life. Parish prayers will be offered on Friday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church in Elmira. A reception will be held following the funeral mass in the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, the family would encourage donations to the Alzheimer Society in lieu of flowers which may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at (519) 669-2207. Mom, you are gone from our sight, but not from our hearts where wonderful treasured memories of you will live forever.
