Sorry for everyones loss.
I remember a day at the beach with Jamie and family. We were all a lot younger and some of us were a lot thinner. We had this crazy green boat. Too many people would get in and it would sink. Then the fun part was bailing it out and getting it afloat again.
It was always a great time when we got together. Its still a favorite place to spend a day with our family and all the memories that were made there.

Jamie was an amazing character! I grew up in Elmira so knew of Jamie although I didn't meet him until he was in Highschool and he babysat my kids when they were young. My kids were fascinated with his insulin injections and Jamie, of course, made a big deal of it and scared the living daylights out of them. It was and still is, very funny.
We managed to stay in touch over the years, even when I left the country and remained in touch until last week. I will miss Jamie very much and would like to extend my deepest condolences to. his family.
He was a wonderful man, a good friend and he will be missed

Jamie and I were driving down king st in kitchener and were tboned at an intersection.... we went to the hospital and we were both fine.... except that we both had to wear neck braces. We were leaving the hospital and were getting smirks and giggles from people.... we were both confused till we saw our reflection in the big windows outside.... we started to laugh because we were both wearing the same jeans, shirt and shoe aaaaand we both had curly blond bobs.... with the neck braces we look hilarious.
I will miss you brother... chatting with you on messenger was always fun..... be free butterbun

I only met Jamie in October. He gave us English tea
And welcomed us into his home. He proudly showed us pictures of his family and other treasures which he valued greatly. He was a Facebook friend of my son Digby and they both valued their chats. Digby will miss him.

I remember Jamie a little during time at EDSS, but it was really later, through social media, when he got in touch and began what became years of witty, smart, passionate, and all round fun conversations, when I got to know him better. I will miss those random musings, and his commitment to his causes, and observations about life. He was a unique and loving person, and will be missed by so many. My condolences to all of his family and friends.

So sad to hear about Jamie's passing. I knew and loved him first in high school and we stayed in touch over the years. My respect for him was high, even back in high school when I didn't understand all his challenges. Once, we were locked in to the music room at EDSS together. We must have been talking intensely in a practise room. When we came out, it was locked. I don't know how we got out, but I remember an hour of really precious time with him, laughing, talking, crying, philosophizing. He was one-of-a-kind, passionate about his causes, always seeking and asking, such a deep thinker, desperate to feel loved........and he WAS loved, ever so much!
I'm so grateful that he now has peace. He will NEVER be forgotten!
With love and memories,
Andrea Weber Steckly
