The Slomka / Bushby family are a very kind, caring group of people.
I work with James' daughter Carolyn, and have met her parents. He will be greatly missed.

I remember Jim Bushby as a dependable man of God who was cheerful, hardworking, generous with his ability. It was very evident that he loved his family and that transferred through to his warm loving children being the same. It was wonderful to be at Forward Baptist with lovely men like Jim as an example of how God loves His children. I am sorry for the pain of loss the family will go through. Ken and Cheryl Morrison

Jim Bushby had a huge servant’s heart. He did not serve from the pulpit but rather assisting hundreds with his gift of “helps”. He had a fabulous sense of humour and loved an occasional practical joke. Most of all, he had a deep commitment to the Lord Jesus and raised his family to follow the Lord as well. He loved his family. He enjoyed his friends, and now he has been reunited with loved ones and has had the privilege of seeing the Lord Jesus, his Saviour, face to face. He will be greatly missed and we pray for the comfort of his family as they reflect so many wonderful memories.

Jim Bushby was one of the best men I ever knew. Unusually persevering, loyal to his friends, and positive--in the sense of being a person who trusted God. Everyone loved him. I see the grace that flowed to his son Doug and my sister Debbie, and then to my three wonderful nieces. The grace of example that rubs off on those who see it and experience it. I talked with him three weeks before he passed away and it was typical of him--happy, joy filled, all about me (when it should have been all about him). What a wonderful man lived among us. How we all will miss him! *Heb 11:4b

Jim always had a smile and time to talk with you. He was a good and kind man. He is in heaven catching up with friends who went before him!
