Obituary of Willemina Maria Kaye

In Memory of Willemina “Willy” Maria Kaye July 27, 1927 – December 21, 2019 Willy passed away peacefully at Barnswallow Place LTC, Elmira, with her two daughters by her side. Willy was the beloved mother of five children: Wanda (Rob) Knox, Iris (Ed) Ostachowski, Michael Kijowski (Negin Gharavi), Bob (Debbie) Kijowski, and Caressa Madison (Chris Renn). She will be missed by her grandchildren Monique, Matthew, Jordan, Brandon, Yasmin, Colin, and Graham, and great-grandchildren Austen, Skye, Maggie, and Evie. Lovingly remembered by her brother Antoon and sister Lyde. Christmas was Willy’s favourite time of year and now she returns home to be with her parents Antoon and Mina, brothers Jan, Gerry, and Robert, and granddaughter Caylynn. Willy always put her children before herself and she loved spending time with her family. Her strong vivacious personality was noticed right until the end. Mom/Nanny will be remembered for her love of gardening, reading, gallivanting and tea parties with her grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress, had the strength to get through difficult times and was very independent, loving and giving. She also touched the hearts of many of the wonderful staff and residents at Barnswallow Place, especially beautiful Carrie. Willy will be missed by many. A private memorial will be planned for family when the roses are in bloom.
