Dear Leona
We are so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We met at the International Plowing Match in Verner this past September, and worked alongside him sharing the Gospel story with those amazing salvation bracelets and walking sticks. It was our privilege to share a few days with a giant of a Christian man who loved our Jesus, Lord and Savior. He walked the talk and rest assured you are in our thoughts and prayers as you lean on GOD for comfort and Peace.
Sad and yet rejoicing in His Blessed Assurance.
Love in Christ,
Rachelle and Peter Talbot

Dear brother Mike was a true soldier of the cross.
Memories of Mike and Leona's service to our Lord abound. But my fondest memory of Mike and Leona is of their time with us in Ireland. Leona ministering among the ladies while Mike and I went farm to farm with the gospel.
I listened in amazement as Mike spoke with ease to many Irish farmers about farming then deftly transitioned to the glorious gospel. We trust that some will be in glory.
Love in the Lord,
Gary and Claudette

Dear Leona — We have often thought of and prayed for you since we heard of Mike’s diagnosis, and continue to pray for your comfort and strength in these days before the funeral. We have fond memories of your generous hospitality and Mike’s cheerful good humour — as young singles and a newly married couple your home was a place of real blessing and encouragement to us, as was your godly example. We will miss Mike, but are so thankful for his sake that he is rejoicing in the presence of the Saviour he loved and served. May the Lord sustain you and give you His peace in all the days ahead.

Again her deepest sympathy to you and each member your family, also for the hospitality That you and Mike had the gang over one night at this year‘s IPM

Once you met Mike, you would know His love for the Lord was real. It was probably 25 years ago I came to the farm dealing in farm supplies. Mike and Leona were real servants of Christ, they did not let you leave without their hospitality of coming in to share a drink and a snack and then Mike would share some Spiritual food with me also. I remember always coming away after Mike and I spending time sharing our common faith in the Lord with one another and realizing that Christ was in the midst of us when we talked. The scriptures say, When 2or3 are gathered in my name, I am in the midst of them also. Matt 18:20. Mike believed in the God who is real and showed it in his talk and walk with the Lord. I am thankful to have known Leona and Mike. I will see Mike again when this mortality puts on immortality and we meet again in the kingdom of God. May Leona and the family know the peace of God that surpasses all understanding at this time of separation from Mike, but remember , he is home with the Lord now.

Dear Leona:
Your dear CECU family and those from Camp send our love to you and know that the God of all comfort will comfort you. We cherish the many trips you made to Puerto Rico, the hours both you and Mike gave to repair camp, and then the cleaning and painting in my apartment to prepare it for sale. Mike's last words to me were, "I'm going to encourage Bob to come this winter to put the tiles on the chapel floor at camp. Little did we know his labour on earth is finished. Thank you for giving to the Lord.

My dear friend Leona, my prayers for you will continue, knowing that Jesus Christ is by our side. How privileged I have been to spend so much time with you and Mike in these last many years, as I was encouraged by his love and service for Christ. We were blessed to spend many Sunday afternoons at the various long-term care homes in Tavistock, and Mike was always my go-to man to answer my spiritual questions. God will lead us a step at a time "Until that Day" II Timothy 1:12 (NKJV). Hugs, Marlene
