Obituary of John Sanders

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2019, with family by his side, at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Mildred (Haslam) Sanders of Elmira for 60 years. Dear father of Robert (Lorelee) Sanders of Elmira, Darryl (Tracey) Sanders of Kitchener, and Janine (Bill) Wendland of Elmira. Loved grandpa of Mitchell, Mackenzie and Keaton Sanders; Steven and Ryan Sanders; and Keely and Kyla Wendland. Survived by sisters Violet Wood, and Dorothy Cassells, and sisters-in-law Mary Sanders, Ruth Armstrong, Kathleen Snelling, and Freda Fletcher. Predeceased by his parents George and Charlotte (Fletcher) Sanders, and siblings Harvey, Earl, Laura, Ruby, Carl, Verna, Elmer and Ross. John was a longtime employee of Home Hardware. At John’s request cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Gale Presbyterian Church, 10 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira. A reception will follow. Interment will take place at a later date.
