Obituary of Mary Ann Wideman

Wideman, Mary Ann (Martin) ~ Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Barnswallow Place, Elmira, at the age of 105 years. She was predeceased by her first husband of 34 years, Alvin S. Weber (1970) and her second husband of 30 years, Manassah Wideman (2002). She is survived by her children Oscar (Erla) Weber, Melinda (Homer) Martin, Alice (Earl) Martin, Clayton (Anna) Weber, Enoch (Dorothy) Weber, Verna Weber, Paul (Shirley) Weber; 19 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren; brothers Enoch, Herman and Amsey (Leona) Martin. Also survived by her stepdaughter Elvina Diefenbacher, stepsons Amsey (Erla) Wideman and Menno (Florence) Wideman, and their families. Predeceased by sisters Leah Frey and Lovina Bearinger and brothers Ervin, Moses and Edwin Martin, great-granddaughter Daina Brooke Martin (2002), stepdaughter-in-law Eileen Wideman (2009), and stepson-in-law Lorne Diefenbacher (2013). Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 6-8 p.m., and Friday, August 11, 2017, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A family service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 9 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, then to Elmira Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Barnswallow Place for the loving care given to our mother for the past 12 years.
