Obituary of Randyl John Boisvenue
With broken hearts we release Randy into the arms of his Heavenly Father after a long struggle with cancer. He passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Lisaard House, Cambridge, at the age of 68.
He leaves behind his wife, soulmate and “buddy” Marlen Boisvenue, his beloved daughter Lisa Robinson and granddaughter Charlotte. Dear stepfather of Matt (Trish) Gerth and Stephanie (Kenneth) Sawyer, and “Grandy” of Nicole, Rosalyn and Jack Gerth; Lorraine and Simone Sawyer. Also grieving are his mother, Evelyn Boisvenue, brother Mark (Lucy) Boisvenue and nephew Nate (Melissa) Boisvenue.
He will be missed by his extended family, father-in-law Fred von Heyking, Marlen’s siblings Marianne (Mike) Kraemer, Marg (Robert) Hart, Rolf (Audrey) von Heyking, Susanne von Heyking, Elisabeth Martin, and Helen (Pat) Paret, and their families. His constant four-legged companion, Jack, will be lost without him.
Predeceased by his father Armand Joseph Boisvenue and brother Richard Boisvenue.
Randy brought so much joy to so many people with his crazy sense of humour, his almost childlike joy in adventures, and ability to encourage all those with whom he interacted. His legacy lives on in the multitude of signs throughout the area.
Special thanks to Ray Brubacher and Julie Ellison White who encouraged and gave Randy spiritual guidance throughout his cancer journey. Also thanks to Dr. Keleher, Jane, Diane, Sarah and the rest of the palliative team, Sarah his PSW, and Dr. Ward, as well as the compassionate caregivers at Lisaard House. Many thanks to family members, friends and the neighbours on Oakcliffe Street for the helping hands.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Gale Presbyterian Church, 10 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira, followed by a reception. Cremation will take place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Lisaard House or KW Humane Society would be appreciated.
