Obituary of Norman Albert Clement
Clement, Norman A. "Norm" ~ Peacefully passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, at the age of 90 years. Norm was the dear husband of the late Beth (Brown) Clement (2009). Beloved father of Peter and Diane Clement of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Loving grandfather of Cale and Caroline. Brother of Betty (Keith) Pauli of Kitchener. Norm will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents William and Nellie (Swayze) Clement, and his siblings Ruby (Bill) Fraser, Blanche (Larry) Banks, Doris (Clarke) Scott, Bill (Ruth) Clement, and Murray (Judy) Clement. Norm was Distribution Manager at Uniroyal Chemical in Elmira for over 40 years, retiring in 1989. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve for over two years in World War II. Norm was an avid curler and golfer and was Building Chairman and President of the Elmira Curling Club. He was President of the Elmira Minor Hockey Association where he also coached for many years. He was General Manager of the Elmira Sugar Kings and coached the Senior Rural League Softball for over 20 years. Norm was a member of Elmira Legion Branch 469, Glenrose Masonic Lodge, and Trinity United Church. A special loving thank you to Brenda and Gary Cooper for all their thoughtfulness, friendship, and assistance provided to Norm. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church, 21 Arthur St. N., Elmira. In memory of Norm, donations to the ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
