Obituary of Dorothy Mae Gerth
Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2018, at Heritage House, St. Jacobs, at the age of 95 years. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Harold Gerth (1989). Sister-in-law of John and Ruth Gerth and Murray and Aleda Gerth. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents James and Wilhelmina Beaty, her brothers Harry (Tilly), Cliff, and Ken (Mabel), and her nephew Bruce Beaty. Dorothy was a longtime faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and was a very active community member of Linwood. Dorothy and Harold were the founding owners of Gerth Transport which is now known as the Gerth Group in Linwood. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1036 Gordon Hain St., Linwood. Interment to follow in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. In Dorothy’s memory, donations to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Heritage House, St. Jacobs for the excellent care given to Dorothy during her stay with you.
