Obituary of Gerald "Chuck" Ray Wilken
Chuck passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Helen Bruder.
Loving father of Lisa Wilken (Ron Klicka) and grandfather of Katrina. Chuck is survived by his sisters Lois (Gerald) Slimmon and Jane (Wayne) Arbic-Moore, brother Ted (Velda), nephews Brian, Terry, and Tim, and niece Stacey. He will be sadly missed by his Maziarz step-children Chris, Mike (Mylene), and Beverley (Harold), step-grandchildren Jessie, Joe, Anna, Beatrice, Harry, Georgia, Johnny, and Evelyn, and special family friend Carol. Chuck will be deeply missed by Helen’s daughters’ families, Susan (Tom), Debi (Rick), Lori (Al), and Diane (Dave), ten grandchildren, and the Reilly family.
Predeceased by Elaine Maziarz, his parents Herb and Lillian (Moore) Wilken, and brother-in-law Wayne Arbic.
Chuck was a proud employee of JM Schneiders for 38 years, working in quality control where his colleagues were considered personal friends. Chuck was an active member of the Twin City Harmonizers for over 40 years and reminisced often of the fellowship and lasting memories. He belonged to a fraternity that he enjoyed over 50 years with his fishing buddies. He will be fondly remembered for his warm and friendly smile and cheery personality.
Visitation for relatives and friends will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. followed by a reception.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington or Twin City Harmonizers - Harmonize for Speech would be appreciated by the family.
