Obituary of Emma Brubacher

Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at St. Marys Hospital, Kitchener, just short of her 95th birthday. Emma (nee Horst) is the beloved wife of the late Raymond Brubacher (1999). Dear mother of Carolyn (Jim) Carr, Sandra (Guenther) Mohr, Don (Jayne), Bruce (Sue), and Mark (Cynthia). Loved grandmother of Lisa, Brad (Susan), Steve, Tony (Sarah), Lori (Ryan), Kevin (Jacqui), Josh (Trinity), Janna (Mark), Sarah (Daniel), Courtney, and Ashley, and 14 great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law Leeta Horst and Elsie Cathrea. Emma was the last surviving member of the family of Menno and Lovina (Bauman) Horst, and was predeceased by her siblings, Lena Frey, David, Mary Shantz, Barbara Horst, Elam, Amon, Martha Koch, Melvin, and Verna Waters. Emma was a lifetime member of the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Interment will take place on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery, followed by a memorial service and reception at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. In Emma's memory, donations to MCC or Innisfree House would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. www.dreisingerfuneralhome.com
