Aberle, Ruth Eleanor
Died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 11, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Ruth Aberle, in her 89th year, of Elmira, was formerly of RR 1, West Montrose. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bill Aberle (2005) with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Devoted and loving mother of Larry and Kathryn of Kitchener, John and Linda of Mildmay, Diane and Steve Watts of Paris, Janet and Peter Bingeman of Petersburg, David and Amber of Guelph, and Stephen of Elmira. Cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Sister of Bill (Fran) Grosz of Palmerston. Sister-in-law of Murray (Darlene) Aberle of Elmira and Chuck Dillon of Port Elgin. Also survived by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ananias and Mary (Stroh) Grosz of Floradale, daughter-in-law Jan Dingwall, and sister-in-law Marie Dillon. Ruth was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira. She was a longtime member of "Club 42", Winterbourne Women's Institute, Tops, Farm Safety, 4H, Elmira Fall Fair, and Elmira Seniors. Her interests included knitting, reading, gardening, and canning. She loved animals – especially cats. She always welcomed visits from young and old. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 27 Mill St., Elmira, with Rev. Richard Frey officiating. Interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or K-W Humane Society would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. The family extend a sincere thank you to the caring staff at Chartwell, Elmira, and to the compassionate caring team at GRH Emergency Department and ICU.
