Logel, Kathleen Rose, "Kay"
October 28, 1923 – October 4, 2017 Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Freeport Health Centre in her 94th year. Kay is lovingly remembered by her 47 nieces, nephews and their families. Kay was the last surviving member of her family, having been predeceased by her parents, George and Christine (Schiebel), Logel, her brothers Charlie, Alf, Oscar, Frank, Bill, Edward and Jerome, and sisters Stella, Laura, Mary, Helen and Margaret. Kay was active in the C.W.L. for many years, a member of the Carmel of St. Joseph Guild and volunteered for many years with the Blood Donor Clinic, Woolwich Horticultural Society and the Chateau Gardens Auxiliary. Kay retired from the University of Waterloo in 1990, after 23 years of clerical work in the Accounts Receivable Department. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 for 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with parish prayers offered at 1:45 p.m., at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Visitation will also take place Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Drive, Elmira, from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Teresa's RC Cemetery, RR 1, Elmira. In Kay's memory, donations to St. Teresa's Parish Fund or charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. A special thank you to all the staff at Chartwell Retirement Home– Elmira, and the staff at St. Mary's Hospital, 5th Floor, for the loving care given to Aunt Kay.
